Jomblang Cave Tour is a tour package that we designed to visit a cave with a vertical entrance. The cave called Goa Jomblang at Gunung Semanu area. Another destination is a beach in the nearby area. This beach has a beautiful sunset to enjoy. For lunch we recommend to enjoy a typical regional menu that called sego abang lombok ijo (red rice with green chili sauce).


Jomblang Cave Tour


Jomblang cave is a cave with a vertical entrance or a collapse doline cave. The cave was formed by the collapse of land and vegetation layer to the layer beneath the earth. It happened thousands years ago. This debris forms a well or sinkhole. As a result the vegetation in the cave are ancient plants. There are also stalactites and stalagmites as well.

Jomblang Cave area is a conservation and research of ancient plants. A group of local people will help us to downline the cave. They provide equipments and guides that are suitable for safety standards for downline this vertical cave.

Travelers who came here usually go after the ‘light of heaven’. Sunlight forms this light that filtered in from the cave’s entrance. Luweng Grubug (cave’s entrance) has a hight about 85 meters. This light forms a pillar of light. Shining on a basic of flowstone in the cave to form beams of light that were wonderful. 

They do only allow maximum 25 persons to enter the cave at the same time. It aims is to maintain the condition of the cave remains natural. Therefore we better do not disturb the ecosystem in the cave as well.

The best time to visit Goa Jomblang is around 10:00 to 12:00 am, because at that time when the weather is sunny, you will be able to see the bright lights of heaven. Therefore we should depart from Yogyakarta about 08.00 or earlier.


Indrayanti Beach


After caving at Jomblang Cave you can enjoy a typical local menu of Gunungkidul called sego abang lombok ijo, fried wader and also Tiwul. Then we will go to Indrayanti Beach. It is a beautiful beach, clean with white sand. The waves are relatively calm. The beach is not far from Jomblang Cave, may be 30 minutes travel by car.
We could walk around barefoot in the sand that is soft and white while waiting for the sunset. There is a pretty well-known seafood restaurant at the west side of the beach, Indrayanti Resto. Because of that the name of this beach is Indrayanti. Another name of this beach is Pulang Syawal.
